Paddle Boarding Superstars in Training
Paddle boarding, a sport that Maddox and Shannon were keen to conquer. Clad in their miniature life jackets and armed with a paddle twice the size of Maddox, they looked every bit the part of aspiring paddle boarding superstars. While Shannon gracefully glided through the water like a seasoned pro, Maddox's attempts resembled something closer to an adorable, yet wobbly dance routine on water! The hilarious sight of Maddox trying to maintain his balance had us in fits of laughter, and even the sea eagle seemed entertained by his performance. Shannon was quick to the rescue when he fell off the board into the freezing sea but this was a good half an hour into the adventure, not a shabby start for a complete novice!

We hopped aboard the rib, a sleek vessel ready to whisk us away on an adrenaline-pumping ride through the shimmering waters of the bay towards Oban. Maddox and Shannon's eyes widened with thrill as we zipped across the water, the wind tousling their hair and laughter bubbling from their lips. The rib's speed was matched only by the palpable excitement radiating from our grandkids, who were soaking in every moment of this high-speed adventure!

As we cruised along Kerrera Sound, a surprise awaited Maddox and Shannon - a chance encounter with none other than Jack Sparrow (or at least a very convincing impersonator in the corner of the boat)!Our maritime journey took us on the Purple Heather boat, where we ventured to visit the playful seals that call these waters home. Perched high up with Jack Sparrow and Pops, Maddox and Shannon were wide-eyed with wonder as the seals frolicked and splashed around us. It's surprising how much sunscreen you might need in Scotland! Maddox couldn't stop laughing after he covered his dad's face with what appeared to be a whole bottle. 🤣 Don't worry Reece, it's the secret to staying youthful and avoiding wrinkles for years. Victoria was ecstatic at the green shack; the seafood platter was huge and incredibly tasty. It was so delightful that we ordered two!
