Whilst here in Clyde Marina I have taken many a walk along the beautiful beaches of Saltcoats and Ardrossan. I feel quite blessed to have the open space to stroll and smell the sea air. The salt in the wind, the call of the seabirds over the crashing waves has made every walk on the golden sands worth the effort of putting on several layers and my woolly hat. When your senses are this alive, there is nowhere quite as wonderful as the beach.

I meander along the sea front in all weathers enjoying the spectacular view of Arran. Ardrossan is a popular seaside destination with two beaches to visit, Ardrossan South Beach and Ardrossan North Shore. I find myself fascinating over the view, the swans gracefully moving through the sea water, dogs playing and waves crashing on the shore.
I share with you some of my favourite photos of these seaside views.

By far my favourite beach is Stevenston sands which is a short walk further on from Ardrossan and is placed between Saltcoats and Irvine. It curves gently round a bay backed by low grassy dunes and lies in an area which has been designated as a Local Nature Reserve. This beach attracts me most due to the fact that you can get away from ambient noise and soak up the tranquility of the dunes and listen to the waves calling you far out to sea.
The most magnificent part of the day is sunrise and sunset. Every day no matter where we are, we see the awe inspiring colours of the sky. I feel tremendously lucky to be alive and some how in the moment of marvelling at the sky colours the whole world seems to slow down. Money can not buy this gift and what amazes me more is every single one is unique. For that reason I share some of my treasured photos of Sunsets in Ardrossan. To be frank I didn't see many sunrises. Oh how things have changed!

Clyde Marina has much to offer, the staff are so helpful and facilities are great too. The yard is spotless and all the services you need are right on your doorstep, whether that be groceries, laundry, meals out, rigging, mechanical engineering, sail repairs and or sail cleaning they are here. Evelyn, one of the conscientious cleaning team at the marina is an absolute sweety and I give her a special mention as she has been a great source of local information for us and we have enjoyed swapping stories whilst waiting for my washing to dry. Should you ever visit this marina any member of this team will ensure your stay is a pleasant one.
I hope this short movie captures a little more about the appeal of the area. It is not the best recording and I do need to practice YouTube more so bear with me please ;)
That's all for now folks, It has been great to say hello on this blustery Easter Sunday.
What comes next, you say? Well, we have some jobs to knock off the list so hopefully I will not be so bored. Sandpiper will be lifted out of the water this week for her annual scrub and polish, so the time seems right to capture some maintenance shenanigans for you all.
Hoping for good weather as working outside in the north is blooming chilly!!!!
